As part of Enterprise Ireland’s recent MedTech Trade Mission to Mirandola, Italy, we were delighted to hear that our CEO, Shirley Walsh, and Sales & Marketing Director, Eamonn Barrett, had some wonderful opportunities to connect with MedTech businesses in the region.
Mirandola is home to a significant cluster of more than 300 MedTech-related companies, making it the largest biomedical district in Europe, and so it was a great honour to represent SCS in helping to build and drive further trade and collaboration between Ireland and Mirandola.
The mission was a great success, with the Enterprise Ireland group visiting three sites while in the region – Orthofix, B.Braun, and Fresenius Kabi all took time to show our group around the facilities, and discuss various potential innovations and partnerships. The trip was completed with a gala dinner hosted by the Ambassador of Ireland to Italy, Patricia O’Brien, joined by the Mayor of Mirandola, Mr. Alberto Greco.
The trip greatly helped our group to build many new relationships within the region – this insight into the needs of Italian MedTech companies will help us to tailor solutions to enable growth for both regions, and foster strong working relationships outside of Ireland.
